I'm Meg, a portrait and event photographer based out of sunny San Diego! Growing up in the small city of Tacoma, Washington, I longed for traveling and big adventures. So one day I packed up my car and drove all the way to Southern California with my dog Charlie. Since then, I've completed a yoga teacher training in Bali, stood on the highest point in Machu Picchu, and ran a marathon in Taiwan!
The purpose of life is to enjoy it and help others do the same. -Wayne Dyer
Most recently, I convinced my fiancé to move abroad with me to teach English so we could see the world. We left our comfy home in sunny California and moved to Taiwan for the greatest adventure of our lives! We spent 15 eye-opening months living in Taiwan and saw a total of 16 countries together. A major desire I have is to visit 100 countries in my lifetime!! I plan to take my future children along for the fun so they don't miss out on the invaluable life lessons traveling abroad offers.
I got my love of taking pictures from my childhood best friend Jennie. She loved capturing moments of joy and laughter. Jennie and I took thousands of photos together with our polaroid cameras before "selfies" ever existed! Then a year after graduating high school, Jennie died in a tragic car accident. Words cannot express how immensely grateful I am now for all the pictures we took back then.
Our memories fade over time, that's a fact. But a photograph eternalizes our most precious memories. And that's beautiful.
It's true what they say, capturing the perfect moment is worth a thousand words. Thank god for digital photography! Without my photos, I would inevitably forget the details of my travels and the friends I've met along the way. Pictures re-connect us with the most profound times, places, and people of our lives.
I'm a spirit junkie and love learning. The way I keep my sanity in life is through yoga and meditation! That's why I became a certified yoga teacher. After 8 years of personal fitness training, I was craving a more holistic mind/body/spirit approach. I love to infuse my mindfulness approach to the wedding day so my clients can slow time down and really enjoy every precious moment of their special day. Life is too short to be stressing!
