Hi I'm Meg! I grew up in the beautiful and rainy city of Tacoma, Washington ( yes I'm a Starbucks and Seahawks fan). Since I was young I longed for exploration and big adventures. One day I packed up my car and drove all the way to Southern California with my dog Charlie. Since then I've been pursuing my passions and chasing adventures all over the world. Some of my greatest accomplishments have been becoming a certified a yoga teacher in Bali, standing on the highest point in Machu Picchu, and running a full marathon in Taiwan! Every new experience I've said yes to has given me more confidence to keep pursuing my dreams.
I recently got back to SoCal after living abroad for almost 2-years. My travels started when I convinced my fiancé to move abroad with me and teach English so we could see the world. We left our comfy home in sunny California and moved to Taiwan for the greatest adventure of our lives! We spent 15 eye-opening months living in Taiwan and saw 16 countries together. A major desire I have is to visit 100 countries in my lifetime!
Another desire I have is to make massive impact in our world. I saw so many poor children around the world that don't have a fraction of the opportunity I had growing up. This lit a fire within me to do something to help kids all around the world pursue their dreams. This is why I started my business. Because I believe as an entrepreneur I can make more impact and create a bigger movement.
The purpose of life is to enjoy it and help others do the same. -Wayne Dyer
I got my love of taking pictures from my childhood best friend Jennie. She loved capturing moments of joy and laughter. Jennie and I took thousands of photos together with our polaroid cameras before iPhones ever existed! Then a year after graduating high school, Jennie died in a tragic car accident. Words cannot express how immensely grateful I am now for all the pictures we took back then.
Our memories fade over time, that's a fact. But a photograph eternalizes our most precious memories. And that's beautiful.
It's true what they say, capturing the perfect photo is worth a thousand words. Pictures re-connect us with the most profound times, places, and people of our lives. I can't express how much gratitude I feel to be a photographer in San Diego. After each photoshoot I express gratitude for my client, for my gifts, and for my opportunity. I often tear up with joy because of the amazing connection I build with my clients during the session.
I feel the bigger responsibility and purpose I have in the work I do. I get to help people celebrate their beauty and special moments of their life. I get to instill confidence in people who have forgotten their own beauty and strength. I get to dive deep into creative flow during a session and live in the moment.
I love when my clients open up to me about who they are. Sometimes I get to hear about their greatest accomplishments, or their biggest regrets. Their dreams.. their fears.. their story. Not only do I listen to their story, but I also share my own. When I finish a session I not only feel more connected to my client, but I feel a greater connection to all people. And let’s face it, we are all starving for more real connection.
I'm a spirit junkie and love learning. The way I keep my sanity in life is through yoga and meditation. After 8 years of personal fitness training, I was craving a more holistic mind/body/spirit approach. I love to infuse my mindfulness approach into my photoshoots so my clients can slow time down and really enjoy every precious moment of their special day. Life is too short to be stressing or rushing. We need to slow down and take time to celebrate all the love I our lives.
